Europe/Switzerland - Fondue
The word fondue comes from the French verb "fondre", which means "to melt". Switzerland's national dish, fondue, is a little bit like a cheese soup.
Café D'Alsace serves a fusion of French-, German- and Swiss-inspired dishes from the Alsace region of north-east France, including two kinds of fondue made with Gruyere cheese, garlic, white grape and a secret ingredient derived from morello cherries.
Both come with cubes of bread; one also has Fribourg cheese, while the Savoyarde has mushrooms and Beaufort cheese.
